WriterBoard is used for planning out the story of any kind and up to any lengths without the worrying of literature so that before you sit and write it in detail, you have a concrete and clear Birds Eye view of everything that’s going to happen.
Right now we are in Alpha development stage of the software and nearly all the features shown in features are being developed so that soon you can dive even deeper into your story. You can still map out your stores no matter how big, save and share them.
This is a logical decision we made, you can branch off the nodes in any number of ways but only one chain of events can reach the end node, so that you see only one variant of the story in Overviewer and don’t get overwhelmed. To see another branch, simply connect that branch replacing the other one in its place. We are working to introduce a brand new way of using multiple branches at once so you don’t have to connect different branches every time.
Overviewer is for those who are still not used to node structures and their working. It always mirrors the nodes and vice-versa. It feels like a thin writer pad which you can use to write, review or filter out the story and see only the important events. Soon it will be used to view and write characters, world rules, notes, etc.
One of the main reasons that makes WriterBoard stand out is the infiniteness and freedom of this board. We do not tell you how to organise the cards, how to use them. You decide for yourself if one card is a chapter, plot point, or even one episode. Write in detail or write in blocks. Decide for yourself if one Tab is one episode or one chapter. We believe everyone is different and plans differently, we made the sandbox, you play in it.
